Grand Opening events to be held Nov. 30
Message from Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus:
Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus will host a grand opening of its Neurofeedback Center on Thursday, Nov. 30.
The center will offer services to CSUSB Palm Desert Campus students and community members in the Coachella Valley. Clinicians pre- and post-test clients and assist them in the neurofeedback sessions, which typically last 30 minutes twice per week. Clients have seen results in less than 10 weeks, but outcomes vary case by case.
Neurofeedback, also known as cognitive rehabilitation or EEG biofeedback, is a ground-breaking technique that challenges the brain to better function. This powerful brain-based technique has been successfully helping clients around the world for more than 30 years. It is a non-invasive process with dramatic results for a multitude of conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADD/ADHD and chronic pain.
The program is overseen by Connie McReynolds, Ph.D., licensed psychologist, who is on the faculty in the Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation& Counseling in the College of Education at CSUSB.
The afternoon will begin with an introductory seminar titled, “Neurofeedback as a Tool for Positive Change” from 2-4 p.m. in the Indian Wells Theater at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus. This seminar is eligible for continuing education units.
The grand opening celebration of the Neurofeedback Center will take place from 4:30-7 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served as well as the opportunity to experience neurofeedback.
