SUPPORT, SPONSORSHIPS POUR IN FROM ACROSS THE VALLEY FOR THE INAUGURAL GCV SMALL BUSINESS WEEK EXPO, NOV 16
Join in to ignite your entrepreneurial spirit – plan to support and participate in the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce’s GCV Small Business Week, November 16th – 25th.
The week kicks-off with a Business EXPO held on November 16, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Fantasy Springs Special Event Center. Approximately 100 innovative exhibitors will fill the showroom to highlight our community resources, local business professionals, leaders, business owners, nonprofit organizations and popular attractions – all with an emphasis on shopping local. There will be a mixture of new start-ups and long-established businesses.
Interactive exhibits will have you walking through CVAG’s CV Link Experience and completing challenging puzzles in the Escape Room Palm Springs!
“Exhibitors have been asked to think outside-the-box for this event. Desert Classic Charities will be there with a putting green for CareerBuilder Challenge tickets along with the world-famous Bob Hope golf cart. The event is next-level because our local businesses and nonprofits are next-level! It’s time to celebrate them; we invite you to show your support and show up to enjoy the day.” – Katie Stice, Regional President, East
Long time chamber member, Carrie Babij, President of Desert Insurance Solutions in La Quinta has stepped up as Title Sponsor of the valleys first-ever GCV Small Business Week EXPO:
“When I ask my local small business clients where they got insurance before me, they frequently say ‘some big broker in LA, I can’t remember the guy’s name’. Seriously? I know from experience service is not better because a provider is bigger, in fact in most cases it’s worse. So, for my business I go out of my way to use reputable local small business vendors for everything I can. My CV small business colleagues could create a lot of positive energy if we just started using each other. Then a buzz is created and retail clients follow.
Also, a lot of my colleagues complain it’s hard to find good people. If we had a better base of small business here we would have more jobs and our best and brightest kids would be less likely to leave. That leads to a stronger, more diverse tax base and better resources like schools and parks.
So by sponsoring the Expo I want to help CV small businesses learn about each other, use each other and at the end of the day build a better future for ourselves, our community and our kids.”
The City of Indio is a Presenting Sponsor, backing our local small business and promoting business success. Jessup Auto Plaza, Fantasy Springs, Classic Party Rentals, AVSU, Fiesta Ford and AT&T have also offered their support to the event.
“AT&T is proud to support the Coachella Valley Small Business Week,” said Julio Figueroa, Director of External Affairs – AT&T California. “We share the Chamber’s commitment to helping small and midsize businesses flourish in the Coachella Valley.”
Attendees will enjoy local flavors and food samples, networking with other industry professionals, and connecting first-hand with merchants. EXPO attendees will have a chance to enter to win a cruise for two! Admission is $5.
Activity, fun and music will fill the event space. The villages focus on the building, medical and business networking industries. The Villages are provided by DVBA (Desert Valley Builders Association) Act 1 (Aging Community Team) and BNI (Business Networking International).
CV Small Business Week ends with Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday is a national shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year and it sponsored by American Express. The Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce is an official partner of this nation-wide effort.
