This event is part of our GCVCC Legislative Breakfast Series\, offering members and guests an opportunity to hear directly from candidates in the upcoming California Governor’s race. Questions will be presented by our Legislative Committee and will focus on issues that impact the business community throughout our region. \nJoin us on Friday\, January 30th\, at 8:30 a.m. at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. A Sacramento native and the first in his family to graduate college and become a lawyer\, Becerra began his career advocating for individuals with mental illness. He served 12 terms in Congress\, helping pass the Affordable Care Act and protect Social Security and Medicare. As California Attorney General\, he defended DACA and the ACA in the Supreme Court and held corporations accountable. At HHS\, he led the nation’s COVID response\, expanded health coverage to a record high- — with more than 300 million Americans possessing their own health insurance\, and launched historic prescription drug price negotiations. Xavier is married to Dr. Carolina Reyes\, a maternal fetal medicine specialist and professor of medicine at UC Davis Medical Center. Together they have ushered into adulthood three accomplished daughters\, Clarisa\, Olivia and Natalia.
