Message from Riverside County Fair:
The Magic Carpet Music Scholarship Application deadline has been extended to Thursday, November 2, 2017 by 5pm. Applications are available through Riverside County high schools, the Riverside County Fairgrounds Administration office and are downloadable at the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival website – DateFest.org.
The 3rd Annual Magic Carpet Music Scholarship Competition will take place on November 19, 2017. This exciting opportunity is aimed at young, talented artists who will have the chance to showcase their creative skills center-stage and have a shot at winning scholarship monies to the college of their choice!
The competition is open to musically-talented, young adults who think they have what it takes to compete against one another in this memorable contest for the chance at winning scholarship monies and the possibility to play LIVE during the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival taking place February 16-25, 2018! There will be three categories for contestants to participate in: Vocal, Instrumental and Original Composition. A winner in each category will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship.
All applicants must be residents of Riverside County and have at least a 2.0 GPA. They must also be at least 17 years of age by the day of the Competition, November 19, 2017. Applications for the Magic Carpet Music Scholarship Competition will be accepted until October 18, 2017 at 4:00 pm.
The 72nd Annual Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival is presented by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, the desert’s leader in gaming and entertainment.
