Established in 1947, the Indio Chamber of Commerce has strong ties to a diverse community.  Indio was formerly referred to as the Hub of the Valley, a Chamber of Commerce slogan made popular in the 1970s. It later was nicknamed the City of Festivals, a reference to the numerous cultural events held in the city, including the date festival and the world-famous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Indio is the largest city in the valley, with a population of 76,036 as of the last census.  Indio’s economy is just as diverse as its population, with agriculture spanning the Southern and Eastern boarders, including the international destination Shields Date Garden.  A strong industrial presence cab found at the heart of the city, with a booming retail sector to the North.  Indio continues to attract more activity and growth to its city every year, a living testament to its original nickname.

The Indio Chamber of Commerce is a founding member of the Greater Coachella valley Chamber of Commerce.
