The City of Cathedral City is currently updating its Development Code and invites all community members to participate in the process through upcoming walking tours and a community open house.
Community Open House: “What is Zoning and How You Make a Difference”
- Date: Thursday, March 13, 2025
- Time: 5:00 p.m.
- Location: Cathedral City Senior Center, 37171 W. Buddy Rogers Avenue
This drop-in style open house will provide a general overview of the Development Code Update process, explain why the City is undertaking this effort, and outline ways for the community to get involved. City staff and the Consultant team will facilitate discussions on zoning issues and opportunities within Cathedral City. Attendees can complete brief questionnaires and speak directly with City staff and Consultant Team members.
Spanish interpretation and light refreshments will be provided.
Design and Development Walking Tours
As part of the initial outreach phase of the Development Code Update, the City is sponsoring three walking tours to gather community feedback on project design, from site planning to building aesthetics. Each tour will last approximately one hour and will be led by City staff and the Consultant team.
Walking Tour #1: Civic Center Plaza and Cathedral Cove Development
- Date: Saturday, March 15
- Time: 9:00 a.m.
- Meet-up Location: Cathedral City Senior Center, 37171 W. Buddy Rogers Blvd.
Walking Tour #2: Landau/Veterans Village/Salvation Army Neighborhood
- Date: Saturday, March 15
- Time: 11:00 a.m.
- Meet-up Location: Salvation Army, 30400 Landau Blvd.
Walking Tour #3: Date Palm at Ramon – Commercial
- Date: Sunday, March 16
- Time: 10:00 a.m.
- Meet-up Location: Starbucks, 69040 Ramon Rd.
Vehicles will be available to accommodate those with mobility needs, and Spanish interpretation will be provided during all tours.
The feedback collected during these events will help shape modifications to the City’s Design Guidelines and the creation of Citywide Objective Design Standards.
