Message from Variety the Children’s Charity:

For the second year in a row, Workshop Kitchen + Bar located on 800 North Palm Canyon Drive Palm Springs have named Variety, the Children’s Charity of the Desert as their chosen charity for Negroni Week 2017 and will be raising money for Variety by donating a portion of the proceeds of all Negroni sales during the week of June 5-11.

Negroni Week launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charities around the world. From 2013 to 2016, Negroni Week grew from about 100 participating venues to 6,000 venues around the world, and to date, they have collectively raised nearly $900,000 for charitable causes.

Negroni Week takes place from June 5-11, 2017, when bar and restaurants will be mixing classic Negronis and Negroni variations for a great cause. To participate, each bar signs up at negroniweek.com, chooses from their list of recommended charities, and makes an immediate donation to that charity. They can also return during and after Negroni Week to make additional donations to their chosen charity. After Negroni Week is complete, they tally up how much was raised collectively by all of the participating bars, restaurants and partners. Negroni Week, is presented by Imbibe Magazine and Campari.

ABOUT VARIETY OF THE DESERT: Variety the Children’s Charity of the Desert is a 501 (c) 3 organization which is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and well-being of underprivileged and special needs children in the Coachella Valley. All programs and funds benefit local children and families. Variety the Children’s Charity has been known for its international influence since its creation in 1928.

Since 1987, Variety has donated over forty 12-passenger Ford vans to Angel View, Boys & Girls Clubs and Family YMCA of the Desert. The vans provide transportation for disadvantaged children to and from school and sports programs and for children undergoing cancer treatment at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Over 5,000 bikes have been presented to Coachella Valley children, including specially adapted mobility bikes for kids with mental and physical disabilities.
