Rewards program offers 5% cash back on purchases and first 125 receive bonus of $20

The City of Indio is proud to announce the launch of a new “Shop Local” rewards program, Open Rewards, an exciting initiative designed to encourage the community to support local businesses by offering a 5% cashback on purchases made within the city. The app, available for free on both Apple and Android platforms, aims to strengthen the community’s economic resilience and foster a sense of local pride.

Residents can now enjoy the convenience of earning cash rewards simply by shopping at local Indio establishments. Once the Open Rewards app is downloaded, residents can register their account and easily navigate the comprehensive directory of eligible businesses in the city. Open Rewards allows customers to earn rewards on every purchase from businesses in the program. The first 125 people to sign up for the program will receive an exclusive bonus of $20 in free rewards, adding an extra incentive to participate.

To redeem rewards, users need only to upload their purchase receipts directly through the app. The process is quick, straightforward, and ensures that residents can effortlessly enjoy the benefits of supporting local businesses.

This “Shop Local” program is fully funded by the City of Indio, and there is no cost for businesses to join. No action is required from businesses to give or redeem rewards, it’s all done through the app. Indio businesses may receive free promotional materials, including flyers, tent cards, social media images and other promotional materials by emailing econdev@indio.org.
