The City of Coachella will be hosting their annual Mariachi Festival this coming Saturday, April 2nd from 5 to 9pm at Veterans’ Memorial Park. This free family event will feature live mariachi music from a variety of groups including Mariachi Coachella LLC, Ballet Folclórico Sol Del Desierto, Mariachi Tapatío de Los Ángeles, Mariachi Las Colibrí and Mariachi Ángeles. Traditional folkloric costumes and choreography will be on full display for all to enjoy.
“We are so excited to bring this highly anticipated event back where we can all gather and celebrate the culture and vibrancy of our great city,” said Mayor Steven Hernandez. “We hope to see our residents and friends from neighboring cities all in attendance.”
As in years past, this event will feature a variety of fun activities for guests of all ages including lawn games and inflatable slides for the kids, as well as mechanical bull rides. Food vendors and an outdoor beer garden are also planned for guests to enjoy.
“We look forward to bringing our community back together after too long apart, in proud celebration of our roots, our history, and our diversity as a city, “said Councilwoman Megan Beaman Jacinto.
