All nine Coachella Valley cities and the County of Riverside will honor 11 of the community’s most active senior volunteers who continue to give their time and effort to serve nonprofit organizations at the 32nd annual Senior Inspiration Awards Thursday, March 28.
Approximately 480 people will attend this event which recognizes the honorees’ ongoing service and the inspiration they provide to community members of all ages to get involved in an organization that helps their community.
The Senior Inspiration Awards will be held in the Cahuilla Ballroom at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage, 32-250 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270.
Guests can come early, at 10 a.m., to enjoy mariachi by Mariachi Flor de Dahlia. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. and the award program concludes by 1:30 p.m.
“This event honors an exceptional group of individuals who help to make our communities better,” said Supervisor V. Manuel Perez. “These volunteers are from all throughout our valley, each of our different cities in the Coachella Valley as well as from unincorporated communities in the Fourth District. We are looking forward to having family members, friends and the community join in recognizing these amazing volunteers.”
This year’s honorees are: Linda Harmon and Juana Romero (Riverside County), Dirk Tacke (Cathedral City), María Ávila Hernández (Coachella), Linda Crowson (Desert Hot Springs), Steve L. Ellyson (Indian Wells), Phillip La Torre (Indio), Marge Dodge (La Quinta), Charles Ara (Palm Desert), Lynn Hammond (Palm Springs) and Richard “Rich” Ronzello (Rancho Mirage).
The program will be emceed by Emmy Award-Winning Journalist and Government Communicator Brooke Beare and Marco Revuelta, Multimedia Journalist with Noticias Telemundo 15 Palm Springs and KESQ News Channel 3.
The Senior Inspiration Awards is hosted by Supervisor Perez and the cities of the Coachella Valley (Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage).
