News from CV Water Counts:

CV Water Counts, Hunter | Johnsen and Kiner Communications
Selected as Gold Addy Winners for Integrated Media Public Service
“Water Conservation Awareness” Campaign
CV Water Counts (CVWaterCounts.com), a collaborative of the valley’s six water agencies, and marketing agencies Hunter | Johnsen and Kiner Communications were recently honored with a Gold Addy Award for their integrated media public service campaign to create awareness of the importance of water conservation.

The campaign, which began in January 2017, included English and Spanish digital, tv, radio, and print public service announcements (PSAs) that featured water saving tips from their cartoon spokesperson, “Splash”, who helped spread the word that “Every Drop Counts” or “Cada Gota Cuenta.” Educational posters and brochures featuring Splash were also distributed to the valley’s schools, chambers of commerce, Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley, Family YMCA of the Desert, and various local community events.

Since this campaign began, valley residents and businesses have saved more than 10 billion gallons of water. More than 30 billion gallons of water have been saved since June of 2015 when California saw its first ever mandatory water restrictions.

“We want everyone to understand that water conservation is a way of life. Residents and businesses are making permanent water-saving changes that will benefit our valley for years to come,” notes Berlinda Blackburn, spokesperson for CV Water Counts, and the Coachella Water Authority. Blackburn adds, “the CV Water Counts team is committed to promoting a water-wise valley lifestyle not just during a drought, but all the time.”
