The event is being called Building for Education in recognition of the foundation’s first gala honoree Richard Oliphant, local philanthropist and developer. Tickets are $150 per person; $275 per couple; $1,350 for a table of ten. Tickets can be purchased at https://everyeventgives.com/event/buildingforeducation/. Sponsorships are being solicited at https://sites.google.com/site/desertsandsef/gala. Sponsorship levels reflect the theme as title sponsor will be designated as Construction Project Manager with other levels titled Architect, Foreman, Plumber/Carpenter, and Apprentice. Silent auction items are also being requested. See below for contact information.
Oliphant’s work on behalf of education includes his commitment to bring higher education to the valley with his tireless work to bring Cal State San Bernardino’s campus to Palm Desert. He was also a force in the project to create the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens. Among his many recognitions include the naming of the newest Desert Sands Education School as the Richard Oliphant Elementary School.
