Under the beautiful Coachella skies out in Thermal, CA there lies the BMW Performance Center next to the private Thermal Club. The Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce, Monday, March 20th hosted 10 teams in a relay competition in the BMW performance cars on the Performance Center’s track (in lieu of a golf tournament this year). The day was such a sucess we have already booked 2024! Save the date: Tuesday, March 5th 2024!

First Place winners were representing team GCVCC:
Vincent Deshayes, Maria Villamar of Paper Dolls Interiors, Josie Thomas Realtor, and Jose Rivera
Second Place was one of two teams representing Publo Viejo Grill and Mexican Food Resturant
Third Place was the Farmer’s Insurance team of Mike Venne
Other teams included:
State Farm Insurance – Phil Goodge’s team from Cathedral City
City of Indian Wells team
Visit Greater Palm Springs team
Mark Carnevale’s Cathedral City team plus Gretchen Gutierrez DVBA, & Rick Strong
ADP team plus Juan Ricardo and Gaudalupe Fox
Pueblo Viejo Grill and Mexican Food Restaurant team- Alba Cruz Rosales

After a healthy breakfast and team kick off the drivers were escorted to the classroom. From there they followed a race time for each team to do a practice run and timed laps.
Other activities were available while waiting for the race times:
Hotlaps involved riding on a track with an instructor (better than any ride I have ever been on)
Racing on the skip pad (like driving on and ice rink)
Plus tours of the exclusive behind the gates Thermal Club.

After the race off of the two best teams on each side we were treated to a delicious buffet meal and bar. The Awards ceremony and trophy presentation went to our winners.
