Washington DC: GCVCC Staff is in Washington DC this week advocating on behalf of our members.  Community Development Officer Patrick Swarthout is meeting with elected officials from across California to discuss issues vital to our local business members.  Among the items being addressed this week are:

• Salton Sea Funding (Support)
• Proposed Tax on Advertising (Oppose)
• Health Care Reform
• Internet Sales Impact on Local Small Business

These are a few of the items the GCVCC will be addressing.  “It’s our goal to develop working relationships with elected leaders across the State,” says Swarthout.  “These may be local issues, but the funding and ultimate resolution for many of these topics will depend on our ability to secure broad coalitions.”
