News from the GCVCC Legislative Committee

Sacramento, CA: The GCVCC has taken a position of opposition to AB 2570 (STONE) FALSE CLAIMS ACT. The position is taken based on the GCVCC Platform position(s) found under “Economic Development and Business Regulations”.

GCVCC Legislative Team: Our tax process is complicated enough for small business owners, and already fraught with peril.  This bill makes it even more so, allowing private attorneys to bring tax lawsuits against taxpayers and creating additional conflicting standards to a process that is already difficult to navigate. Neither the Chamber nor our members condone tax fraud, nor do we oppose weeding out bad faith actions by individuals or businesses.  But we do oppose ill advised law that does not help the situation – this qualifies.
