Indio, CA: The Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce (GCVCC) has partnered with the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) and the City of Indio to launch a new East Valley iHub. The Chamber will host the facility in its Indio office initially, with hopes it will grow into a larger space. CVEP will administer the program.
Indio City Council voted unanimously to fund the creation of the program, which it hopes will help spur new entrepreneurs, and ultimately high paying jobs and opportunities for local residents and business startups.
The program will be able to house 8-10 businesses to start, utilizing shared work space the chamber crated in the building last year. Similar programs are currently run by CVEP in Palm Springs, with an additional work space under construction in the Mid-Valley in partnership with the City of Palm Desert.
“We are excited to help make this happen,” says GCVCC President and CEO Joshua Bonner, who also serves on the CVEP Board of Directors. “Joe Wallace and his team at CVEP do a phenomenal job recognizing entrepreneurs and helping them bring their ideas to fruition. Those ideas create jobs, so our chamber has always tried to be a good partner and resource to them to help accomplish that mission.”
The new program should begin soon. The GCVCC Indio office is located at 82-921 Indio Blvd, Indio. For more information on the new program, CVEP can be contacted at 760.340.1575. Visit them on the web at cvep.com.
