News from the GFWC Woman’s Club of Indio

Indio, CA: GFWC WOMAN’S CLUB OF INDIO is hosting a pet parade to benefit the staff and residents of the Indio Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (INRC), on October 31, 2020 at 10:00 am. The staff and residents of INRC have been secluded from the world since the Pandemic began.

The Woman’s Club of Indio has adopted the skilled nursing center, providing staff appreciation treats, art supplies, art cart, air fans for the rooms, a television dolls, letters and other comfort items. Now, we are planning to bring a little fun and entertainment. We will be parading our pets, stuffed animals, children or just ourselves to help some of our most vulnerable residents. The pet parade will be entirely outdoors, there will be no contact with others and masks and social distancing will be enforced. As it is Halloween, we will be dressing up, but as residents might get scared, we are avoiding scary costumes.
