ICONIC AMERICAN ROCK BAND “CHICAGO” SET TO RETURN TO FANTASY SPRINGS RESORT CASINO IN OCTOBER
Hailed by former President Bill Clinton as “One of the most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era,” the legendary rock and roll band with horns, CHICAGO, makes its return to The Special Events Center at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Saturday, October 6, 2018.
This year, Chicago is planning a show unlike any other that they’ve done before. Chicago will perform their historic album Chicago II in its entirety as the first set of the concert. While some artists have performed an entire record as their complete show, for Chicago, this will only be the first set before intermission. Chicago II, like the band’s first release, is a double album and contains the hits “25 Or 6 To 4,” “Make Me Smile,” “Wake Up Sunshine” and “Colour My World,” the #1 song for weddings and proms for more than 40 years. The second set will be the “world’s longest encore,” as the band jokingly refers to it, filled with their greatest hits. This concert will be the band’s longest show ever.
As Billboard celebrates the Billboard Hot 100’s 60th Anniversary, Chicago is the Top American Band in Billboard chart history and #4 overall, behind the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Bee Gees. In addition, Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades.
From the signature sound of the Chicago horns, their iconic vocalists, and a few dozen of their classic songs such as “25 Or 6 To 4,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Hard Habit To Break,” “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?” and “Saturday In The Park,” Chicago’s concerts are celebrations and 2018 has marked the band’s 51st consecutive year of touring without missing a single concert date!
Chicago’s lifetime achievements include a Grammy Award, multiple American Music Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, a Chicago city street dedicated in their honor, and proclamations and keys to an impressive list of U.S. cities. Chicago was also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. Their record sales top the 100-million mark and include 21 top 10 singles, 5
consecutive number one albums, 11 number one singles, and five gold singles. An incredible 25 of their 36 albums have been certified Platinum and the band has a total of 47 Gold and Platinum awards.
