Indio Launches Free PPE Program for Businesses

News from the City of Indio

Indio, CA: Personal Protective Equipment, including three-ply non-medical grade masks and rubber gloves, are now available for distribution to Indio businesses as part of a program officially launching on Friday, Sept. 25.

The City’s COVID-19 PPE Business Assistance Program offers non-residential businesses such as restaurants, retail stores, offices, convenience markets, and non-profit 501 (c)(3) organizations free and limited supplies of PPE through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, and with approval of Indio’s City Council. PPE will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis (until supplies last) to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to alleviate the financial burden on Indio businesses to purchase their own PPE.

“The City of Indio is committed to the safety and protection of our residents, businesses and guests,” said Mayor Glenn Miller. “Providing PPE is just one component of the process, but this is one way we can help right now.”
