The Alzheimer’s Association of the Coachella Valley, proudly serving the desert communities for 20 years, will be holding their 17th annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, April 7th at beautiful Palm Desert Civic Center Park.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the Alzheimer’s Association signature fundraising event, is an upbeat and inspiring celebration in honor of our local desert families living with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as a great opportunity for people to educate themselves about the disease and the programs and services available to serve our local residents.

Walk participants will be treated to live music, food, fun and entertainment and a festival area filled with an amazing array of information on services available to families in the Coachella Valley, including services related to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as companies that are of interest to the general population. Noted news anchor from KESQ News Channel 3, Jeff Stahl will be the event emcee.

“Alzheimer’s disease is a devastating crisis for the families it affects. And all of us need to be aware of the effect and expense this disease has and will have on our economy” said Linda Evans, Mayor of La Quinta and Chief Strategy Officer for the Tenet CV Market Hospitals, “The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a wonderful way for our community to come together and support this important cause, while celebrating and supporting our desert families living with Alzheimer’s.” Linda Evans and Jan Harnik, candidate for Riverside County Supervisor were both expected to take part in the Promise Garden Ceremony that is held at every Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Additionally, Dr. Raul Ruiz’ office will be presenting a proclamation honoring the Alzheimer’s Association’s 20 years of service to the Coachella Valley.
