CONSTRUCTION NOTICE
The intersection of Madison Street and Avenue 50 will be closed to through traffic on Wednesday, March 27, from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times, and the detour route is shown to the right.
The intersection is being closed for asphalt paving as part of the larger Madison Street Improvement Project between Avenue 50 and Avenue 52. Although paving will be occurring the entire week from Monday, March 25, through Saturday, March 30, the only day any streets will be closed to traffic is Wednesday, March 27 (although there may be some delays on other paving days).
Work on the Madison Street Improvement Project is being expedited to be as complete as possible prior to the music festivals beginning on April 12, 2019. Prior to the music festivals, Madison Street will be completely paved out with two traffic lanes in each direction. All concrete work (including installation of sidewalks) will also be completed on the east side of Madison Street prior to the music festivals.
Immediately following the music festivals, work will begin on installing traffic signals at the intersections of Madison Street and Avenue 50, and Madison Street and Avenue 52. Also after the music festivals, all construction work on the west side of Madison Street between Avenue 50 and Avenue 52 will be completed.
