Palm Springs – After 20 years living in Palm Springs, Meachele Campbell decided to give a part of herself and her family back to the community, through an all-new Palm Springs Comic Convention – the PS Comic Xpo. Campbell has brought together everything her family loves, including music, Marvel and DC movies and video games.
“We are a family who loves the world of Comics, Video games and music and PS Comic Xpo incorporates all of it,” Campbell said.
The Comic Convention will kick off June 22nd and will last through the 24th, featuring concerts, collectors, cosplay, celebrities, comic artists and comedians. Fans can expect to see headliner Ray Stevenson, known for Volstagg in Thor, Marcus Eaton in Divergent and the Punisher in Punisher War Zone, as well as Sean Astin, known for Samwise Gamgee in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ Trilogy, Mikey Walsh in ‘The Goonies,’ the title character ‘Rudy’ and so many others. There will also be the Twisted Toons, a mashup of the best voice talent impersonating characters (real or imagined) reading from a movie script.
The convention will start off with a concert and DJ party Friday night, featuring Jess Harnell (Animaniacs, Transformers) with his band Rock Sugar, Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time) and his band Make out Monday, and DJ Carlos Ferro (Gears of War). Fans will be able to see them all on Saturday and Sunday, as they will be on the show floor signing autographs along with our many other celebrity guests.
VIP holders will be allowed priority VIP seating to all the Saturday and Sunday events, the VIP packages also include a shirt and lanyard * (Limited Number available) There are also Concert Passes, Saturday, Sunday and Weekend Passes.
There will be some of the best vendors and displays, including Sean Rich of Tortuga Trading coming to the Xpo – fans will be able to see real pirate weapons that were used in the movies ‘Pirates of the Caribbean.’
“Comic Conventions are a bizarre and wonderful place where you are completely accepted and not judged,” Campbell said. “Our goal for PS Comic Xpo is that everyone will walk away with great memories and experience more than they could have hoped for or imagined.”
