ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHOCOLATE FACTORY AT FANTASY SPRINGS NAMED “ROOKIE OF THE YEAR” AT NATIONAL CONVENTION
September 27, 2018 – INDIO, CA – In what is being called a “sweet” victory for Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory location inside Fantasy Springs has been named the 2017 Rookie Of The Year shop by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory’s bi-annual convention, held this week in Nashville, TN.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory gives its Rookie of the Year award to the new store that shows the most dedication to customer satisfaction and to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory brand. The Fantasy Springs location of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is honored to have received this year’s award. “All the long hours, hard work and passion for what we do clearly paid off and I’m so proud off our team,” said Fantasy Springs Director of Food & Beverage Tony Sanza.
The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino opened in November of 2017 and is situated between Starbucks and The Bistro on the upper level near the hotel. After its grand opening, it quickly became the Coachella Valley’s favorite destination for the finest in culinary delights. Besides carrying over 30 varieties of their world famous caramel and chocolate-covered apples, fudge is made daily at the shop for all guests to see. The cooks use a marble slab to cool the chocolate delicacy while shaping it with paddles into giant 22-pound loaves. A variety of fruits, pretzels and cookies are also dipped by hand into pots of melted milk, dark and even white chocolate to create a cornucopia of unforgettable and tantalizing treats.
The first Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory store opened on Memorial Day of 1981 in the quaint old mining town of Durango, Colorado. The Durango factory continues to create chocolates for more than 300 franchised and company-owned stores throughout the world, including its Rookie Of The Year outlet at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, CA.
