Stonewall Humanitarian Awards Gala

News from Thomi Clinton

EVENT June 28, 2018

On June 28, 1969 in the early morning, police entered a known Gay bar called Stonewall. The response from the LGBT patrons experiencing police brutality was a spontaneous demonstration at the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village nationhood of Manhattan, New York. It is widely accepted that this demonstration sparked the LGBT civil rights movement.

Overtime our youth have forgotten this moment in time, which in turn disfranchises them as a LGBT minority group. This event educates about Stonewall and other human right’s needs, and recognizes others for their achievements in equality.

The funds for this event directly support the Transgender Community Coalition mission and to provide needed resources to over 27,000 Transgender, Intersex, Gender Non-Conforming and Non-Binary people with job placement, housing, healthcare, legal assistance, housing, homelessness, HIV/AIDS, PrEP and PEP, youth, suicide prevention, clothing, food, life emergency assistance, emotional and peer support, social justice, advocacy, family intervention, public accommodation and inclusion. In addition, providing education to healthcare agencies, police departments, schools, organizations, non-profits, businesses and much more to ensure there is inclusion of Transgender, Intersex, Gender Non-Conforming and Non-Binary people.

We need a lot of help our first year to be a success.

If you would kindly provide a list of persons that would possibly sponsor for us to reach out to it would be greatly appreciated. The entertainment for this event is SVET, he has survived brain cancer, he has agreed to play a song with student violinists from the local schools to inspire their ability to with globally recognized violinists.
