Save the dates of March 5-8, 2020 as the City of La Quinta will be home to an amazing arts festival!  New art events will take place in La Quinta next March 2020, in spite of the recent withdrawal of the annual arts festival produced by the La Quinta Arts Foundation.  The City of La Quinta has received inquiries from various event producers, as well as strong support from residents and artists to host an event in March 2020.

The City will host a community workshop on Wednesday, July 10, from 5:30pm-7:00pm in the city hall lobby to capture artist and resident input regarding a 2020 event and ideas about a new name for this event.  The City will then  issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on Thursday, July 11, for event producers to submit their proposal for a signature fine art event March 5-8, 2020.  The City will evaluate the proposals and the City Council will select the most qualified event producer at their August 6th City Council meeting.  In speaking with the art community, a producer must be selected in August in order to stage an event in March 2020.  The City encourages artists to save the dates and looks forward to continuing the La Quinta’s art tradition with more unique art events.
