Valley Welcomes New Business Support Centers

The Valley welcomed two new offices on Monday that are sure to have a big impact on local business.  The East Valley Coalition and the new Small Business Development Center cut a ribbon on new offices in the Riverside County Economic Development Center in Indio.  The ceremony was presided over by County Supervisor John Benoit.

The East Valley Coalition (EVC) is an economic partnership between the City’s of Coachella, Indio, and La Quinta, as well as Riverside County.  Their goal is to seek out and establish new retail and major business partners in the East Valley.  The EVC is headed by Executive Director Bob Wright and Chaired by Michael Wilson of Indio.  “Regional partnerships are key” said Council Member Wilson at the event, “working together is how we are going to keep our economy heading in the right direction.”

The new Small Business Development Center (SBDC) also opened it’s doors to the public.  The center will host educational opportunities, mentoring, and resource referral services to small business entrepreneurs and businesses looking to expand operations.  The SBDC receives funding from the SBA in partnership with Riverside County.
