Academy of Musical Performance to Host Free Event on Tuesday, December 20

Indio, CA: Children and teens who are part of the Academy of Musical Performance (AMP) program will perform at the Big Rock Pub located at 79-940 Westward Ho Drive, Indio, CA 92201, this Tuesday, December 20, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is free for all ages, and will offer food and drink specials and a raffle.

AMP is a music education program that enriches the lives of young musicians, ages 10 to 17 years old, living in the Coachella Valley. AMP is a non-profit group headed by the Coachella Valley Community Trust (CVCT) to foster productivity and social responsibility through musical performance and concert production skills. AMP started out as a summer rock band program that received seed funding from Goldenvoice. However, high demand from the youth and community has made it a year-round program that requires funding from generous donors to keep the program running. AMP is currently offering instruction at the Indio Performing Arts Center.

Tuesday’s event will offer raffle prizes that includes a guitar/gig bag from Music Proz, a two-person photo session by local photographer Julie Moses, a Massage Envy gift card, a round of golf for two with a $50 dollar gift card to Big Rock Pub, and other prizes.
