The Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce (GCVCC) has announced that Barb Chodos has joined the organization as its new Director of Operations, beginning October 16, 2023. Chodos previously served on the GCVCC regional board, and will bring knowledge and background from that leadership role into her new position with the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Chodos has over 25 years of experience in the media industry which includes holding senior manager level sales and operations positions in both private and publicly held publishing companies. She is experienced in overseeing all financial and operational aspects in sales, marketing and production departments which has included developing and forecasting along with achieving revenue and expense budgets.

GCVCC CEO, Brandon Marley, shared that Chodos will be overseeing the overall operations of the organization. “We’re so excited to have Barb joining us here at the GCVCC,” he added. “She comes with a wealth of experience and connections throughout the Coachella Valley – many gained while she was a member of our regional board of directors. With decades of operations experience, she will help elevate our chamber to a new level.”

After serving as Vice President of Sales and Operations for the Desert Sun from 2015-2018 – leading the sales organization to exceed revenue goals by selling multi-platform products, services and events sponsorships – Chodos was President and Publisher of the San Diego Business Journal|California Business Journals, LLC. She holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from California State University – Northridge, and has held numerous positions in publishing over the years.
