Why We Walk
Until we achieve a cure, our efforts will ensure these families receive the comfort, relief, support and fun to help them in the ultimate fight against these diseases. Please join our foundations in the fight to CURE Pediatric Cancer and other serious illnesses.
The Desi Strong Foundation shines a light on pediatric cancer through awareness, patient and family support, and raising funds for a cure. We provide assistance to local families fighting pediatric cancer as well as distribute Desi Strong Dolls to children fighting cancer. Lastly, we donate funds to Pediatric Cancer Research.
We can’t all be doctors or cancer researchers or caregivers, but walking with us can raise the money that makes their work possible. And in the meantime, help children and their families feel the love while they fight these horrible diseases.
Event Sponsors: Bright Event Rentals, CV Photo Booths, Life Stream Blood Bank, DJ Paul’s Kids, Club ACME Moving & Storage
About Desi Strong Foundation: The Desi Strong Foundation shines a light on pediatric cancer through awareness, patient and family support, and raising funds for a cure. We’re a Coachella Valley non-profit that was formed in 2016 after Desirae Ava Grace Cechin lost her battle with stage IV high risk neuroblastoma. The community really came together during her fight to help get her the treatment we hoped would be lifesaving. Once she passed, we took the remaining funds and started the Desi Strong Foundation in her honor so we could give back to the community by helping other families fighting pediatric cancer. We don’t have a children’s hospital here in the desert so all these kids (and their parents) have to travel outside of the Coachella Valley for treatment. We’re currently helping over 30 local families by way of gift cards for travel, meals, lodging and household bills. We also created a therapy doll that we distribute to children fighting cancer for free. Lastly, we donate to fund pediatric cancer research in hopes to eventually end this disease. I encourage you to check out our website to learn more about the amazing work we do and see some of the families we’re helping. www.DesiStrong.org
