Indio’s Performing Arts Center, Desert Theatreworks, new season is underway. The spotlight will be on a new and exciting live play every month, totaling seven plays this season.

The seven plays are:

• Lend Me a Tenor (October 6-29, 2023): “Lend Me a Tenor” is a hilarious and unpredictable play around a series of mistaken identities.
• Kinky Boots (November 3-26, 2023): “Kinky Boots” is a heartwarming hit based on a true story of two seemingly different individuals who find common ground.
• A Christmas Story (December 1-21, 2023): “A Christmas Story” follows nine-year-old Ralphie Parker from Indiana, who daydreams about Christmas Day.
• Gilligan’s Island – The Musical (January 5-28, 2024): A fun family musical brings America’s iconic 1960s sitcom to the stage.
• Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite (February 2-25, 2024): “Plaza Suite” is a play showcasing three couples with different storylines in a well-known hotel room.
• Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (March 1-24, 2024): Beautiful, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical about Carole King’s inspiring true story, follows her journey from teenage songwriter to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in six years on Broadway.
• Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird (April 12-28, 2024): “To Kill a Mockingbird” is set in a Great Depression-era Alabama town where Scout and Jem live with their father, Atticus Finch, after their mother’s passing.
