News from: DHS COVID Vaccination Center
The Desert Sun reported on May 9 that Desert Hot Springs has the second lowest COVID19 vaccination rate of any city in the Coachella Valley. This puts its residents at greater risk of contracting the virus with all the associated health risks and economic hardships. This shouldn’t be happening as Desert Hot Springs has its own COVID19 vaccination center located at the Carl May Community Center, 11711 West Drive.
Many residents in DHS and the surrounding area are not aware that they can obtain a free COVID19 vaccination in DHS, yet vaccinations are critical if our community is to return to its normal economic activity with people able to freely and safely access local businesses.
To increase the DHS vaccination rate, the health care team at the vaccination center are requesting that DHS businesses help by informing their customers about the availability of receiving a free COVID vaccination at the Carl May Community Center.
The vaccination team has produced 8 ½ x 11 flyers and small 4” x 5” handouts in English and Spanish to be posted in windows and located near where customers pay for their purchases. The heath care team will deliver flyers and handouts directly to your business. The health care team can also schedule a special time for your employees to receive their vaccinations. The center is open Wednesday – Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To receive flyers, schedule a time for your employees to be vaccinated or for any other COVID19 information, call 760-799-2055.
