News from the GCVCC Business Legislative Advocacy Committee
We write to express our support for AB 230, which would allow an individual employee to request an employee-selected flexible work schedule providing for work days up to 10 hours per day within a 40-hour workweek.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we work. A large number of individuals are now working exclusively from home and while some expect to return to an office one day, it will not be for 5-days a week. Despite this change in our work habits, California continues to require a majority of the workforce to operate on the same 8-hour per day, 5-day per week work schedule. Being able to provide a tool for both employee-employer as a flexible work schedule can revolutionize and update our current typical work week.
